A few words from past attendees & Cox Media Group employees:
“Attending the IRTS Career Day at CMG last year was such an eye-opening experience! I learned about aspects of this business that I didn’t even know existed. I gained great interviewing skills that played a key role in landing my summer internship offers.” Kristy Lyons, Senior, University of Georgia – 2012 Attendee
“It was wonderful to learn about the many different career options available to me within a company like CMG. From broadcasting to sales, we learned about how all of these different departments work together to achieve success, and subsequently it helped boost my confidence as I began my job search after graduation.” Brielle Urssery, Programming Strategy, Scheduling & Acquisitions Assistant, BET Networks – 2012 Attendee
“I never wanted to be in sales! It seemed so boring compared to being a reporter or producer. It wasn’t until I realized I wanted to control where I lived, how much money I made and who I worked with that sales became an interest. I love what I do because I have the freedom to create my own destiny and help others follow their dreams of being successful business owners. I feel more like a doctor for businesses than a ‘sales person’.” Sophia Lopez, Account Manager
IRTS and Cox Media Group came together for an amazing event! Not only did I meet top executives and network with CMG leaders, but they gave us a chance to be matched with a mentor. We all felt so welcomed by the people of CMG, and we walked away knowing so much more about the media business." Eric Jones, Associate Booker & Segment Producer, “Good Morning America” ABC News – 2012 Attendee
“I didn’t think I would end up in sales after college; I knew I wanted to be in the marketing world but wasn’t quite sure where I fit in. After exploring some options, CMG seemed to be the perfect fit – they trained you so I wasn’t thrown a phonebook to start building my clients, I got to flex my marketing muscles because of our unique sales approach, and most of all, it didn’t feel like sales….it seemed like fun! I didn’t want to be a salesman, and in my mind - I’m not – I’m a marketing expert to my clients.” Zach Mullins, Media Consultant
